Sadie Mae John interview

What inspires you to keep making things?

"It has to be the satisfaction of the finished product.. whether it is a solution to a problem (functional) or it just looks good (form). Knowing I used my own two hands, and lots of fun tools, to turn a pile of wood into something is AWESOME. Plus, it is always makes me smile when I see my customer’s reaction to their new pieces!"

What one piece of advice would you give to other makers?

"Build Loud, Build Wild... that is my personal mantra! When I started I didn’t know what I was doing, I didn’t know the rules of how things were suppose to be put together... but I just built and made things the best way I knew how with the tools I had.

So my advice would be just start! Oh and don’t be afraid to make mistakes, they are just learning experiences ultimately. So fail fast, learn from it and move on!"
