I'm a Maker Because...

Dianna Allen interview

What inspires you to keep making things?

What truly inspires me to keep making things and pursuing the dream of running my own business is my mom. She grew up in the Philippines and immigrated to America during her 20's. I feel that is such a powerful move by her, and it'd be a shame for me to not take advantage of the life I've been blessed with here in the states.

What one piece of advice would you give to other makers?

Everyone has different desires, but for me, I want to be able to make a living from my passion of candle-making. However, until then, I'm not quitting my day job and I would advise others to do the same. I'm taking calculated actions towards my goals all while still having the safety net of finances. It might be a slower process, but it's low-risk this way.
